This one's for the understandably anonymous Chuckle Brothers fan(s) who commented on a previous post which featured a Youtube clip of a dubbed Adolf Hitler planning the McCann's media campaign, comparing his media team's performance to the legendary comedy act...

I saw the Chuckle Freres at the Birmingham Hippodrome Panto in 1995/1996 season - they quite literally stole the show without appearing to break a sweat. Whatever you may think of their tv programmes, they got on tv because they have positive merit as performers (unlike most of the modern cast of cast-offs).

I've never seen them live and I know that kids love 'em so I'm more than happy to defer to someone with 1st hand experience

and I suspect they would have fared somewhat better put in the same circumstances as some contemporary Comedy Gods I can think of
