One of the staple cliches of on-line conspiranoids is to make constant allusion to the 'false left-right paradigm' and to refer to left and right wing politics as being 'two wings of the same bird'

Now, as it happens, I agree that mainstream politics are frequently manipulated into two horse races where both horses have the same owner

I also agree that the left-right paradigm is a restrictive, 'two dimensional' representation of the possible spectrum of political viewpoints. The political bird in question also has a head (libertarian) and an arse (authoritarian) - and several other appendages that could be pressed into methaphorical service, but not in this post

By bringing the additional libertarian-authoritarian axis into your simple left-right political paradigm it becomes possible to shed light on all sorts of otherwise difficult to explain behaviour...

• Why Hitler and Stalin got on so well, for a while anyway

• Why on certain issues such as personal freedoms or overseas wars, libertarian right wingers can sound a lot less bloodthirsty than left wingers with an authoritarian streak
  
  
• How it is possible for a certain type of young 'Marxist' (sic.) to effortlessly become a middle-aged Neocon, or Melanie Phillips

If you are the kind of person who enjoys petty power and telling people what to do you would probably fit just as well into a 'hard' left as a 'hard' right regime. If you do not like giving or taking orders you are going to have real issues living under a paternalistic regime, however benign

Having said all that, simplistic as the left-right paradigm may be it is not a false paradigm

There are such things as left and right wing sensibilities and one of the falsest paradigms out there on the Interweb is the assertion that left wing ideologies are entirely a fabrication of the Illuminati Jew Bankers, created to destroy the transcendental beauty that is Christian Free Market Capitalism

Oh hum, where do you start?

• You could point out that the Christ depicted in the New Testament is not what you would call a raving free market capitalist

• You could explain that the vast majority of workers in free market nirvanas such as Victorian England didn't exactly have much scope to savour the joys of all those capitalistic opportunities and freedoms, on account of being too poor and dying prematurely from a variety of exciting lung diseases

• Or you could simply suggest that anyone who dismisses compassion for and empathy with fellow humans as being nothing more than the product of Zionist mind control is probably in dire need of a hug
  

Without going into the ins and outs of who allegedly funded and promoted which political group, which writer or which revolution, plain common sense and a little knowledge of history, should tell you that the quest for fairness, compassion and empathy goes back a long way and is not some 19th century cabalistic invention conjured up out of the ether by Marx

The really bizarre thing is that of the plethora of conspiratorial websites and personalities out there the great majority are anti left-wing and pro capitalism*. Somehow socialism gets discounted as a capitalist plot but capitalism does not

Which, from an evil, plutocratic overlord's point of view is a bit of a result, and exactly the manner in which you would like to see your opposition behaving

* = That would be a special kind of never yet seen magic capitalism which does not rely on banks and does not result in dangerous concentrations of dynastic wealth and power

Anyway, all of the above was merely a preamble to this short clip of Alex Jones explaining what true political insight is really all about. It is not about false paradigms and birds' wings. It is about elves, clockwork elves...

PS And if anyone who has bothered to read my latest spate of posts detects a certain confrontational tone being directed towards conspiracy theorists as well as official narratives they might well be onto something. There's a shared look and sound to the style of films I have in mind and they are often associated with the kind of 'Common Purpose'-esque, public-private initiatives which piss me off something rotten - however mumsy the voice over

Whilst I appreciate that many loons out there like to describe this propaganda as 'communist' or 'marxist', they're wrong. It is the product of an unholy merger of corporate and state power, and that is fascism, well mostly

I appreciate that it's easier for people who don't see themselves as lefties to identify anything they perceive as evil as being 'Marxist' or 'communist' (and for lefties to identify anything evil as being 'fascist') but the situation is a little more complicated than simplistic use of poorly defined or understood terms like 'Marxism' is capable of describing

The fact that unaccountable foundations, pressure groups and think tanks, like the one that made the video at the top of this post, are funded by big corporations as well as government should be a bit of a fucking clue as to the nature of The Beast.

If your definition of communism encompasses activities that are promoted by and benefit large, privately owned corporations and billionaire individuals it might be worth your while contemplating the internal contradictions in that point of view. I can understand how people might argue that a bastardised form of communism might, like so many other 'isms', be co-opted as a tool of those private corporations and billionaires but are those corporations and billionaires themselves communist? What word would you, should you use to describe them?

Media BS Masterclass #23 - Setting up a couple of frosty ones

For many years the UK Gold Standard for 'chilling' imagery was this picture of Myra Hindley...


Not being old enough to recollect the Moors Murders the only thing I found immediately chilling about that photo was the choice of haircut and unflattering lighting

For the generations that did remember the murders, however, this was an extremely emotive photo and became legendary as a cheap, Pavlovian way to boost newspaper sales on a slow day, through the simple technique of fabricating the flimsiest of pretexts to stick the Hindley portrait somewhere on the front page

And, after I learned a little about the Moors Murders, I could concede that, yes, you could convince yourself that there was something intrinsically evil about Hindley's expression if you were so inclined

But, to be honest, the image itself really was no more intrinsically 'chilling' than any other crap portrait taken of a woman with a crap haircut in the mid 1960s

Which is my roundabout way of introducing the much more contemporary issue of what is the State and its supportive media whores to do when there is fuck all in the way of video evidence that ties the alleged 7/7 bombers into the actual bombings?

Imagine that you've secured a mound of totally innocuous video of the alleged 7/7 bombers going about their daily business, no different to the mound of innocuous footage you could gather on any other citizen of these over-surveilled isles but, thanks to a series of incredibly unlikely mishaps, you have no actual, for want of a more respectful phrase, money shots

How do you attempt to convince Jane and Joe Public that the footage you are going to try and sell to them as being hard evidence of terroristic wrong-doing is not actually banal and irrelevant?

Various dodges have been tried - showing undated footage not taken on 7/7 at the same time as a voice-over talks about 7/7 is one, referring to 'iconic images' of ecstatic bombers hugging each other that don't actually exist has been another, but none have been so heavily used as the old classic...

Describe any old irrelevant toss as being 'chilling'

Don't quite get what I'm on about? Do a couple of Google searches for terms like '7/7 Bombers Chilling' or '7/7 Chilling Photographs', read a few of the results and see if any of the material described as 'chilling' is anything but irrelevant and/ or innocuous

I Can't Believe It's Not a Proper Inquest!! pt2

Years ago, shortly after 9/11, I was arguing with a work colleague about the blatant inconsistancies in the Official Narrative of that particular atrocity.

The miraculous fire-proof passports were high on my list of bullshit, as was the suggestion that the hijackers had been cramming 767 flight manuals in the airport car park on the morning of 9/11. I also had big issues with the story that at least some of alleged Muslim fanatics had got lagered up in the Pink Pony titty bar the night before their 'martyrdom operation'

My colleague explained to me in the most patronising tone he could muster...

'But what you don't understand is that these Al Qaeda operatives are trained to blend in seamlessly into Western Culture'

Now, as it happens, he was the kind of seedy old sod who did frequent titty bars on business trips and probably does consider them to be the epitome of Western Culture, but that's by the by

My response to my colleague was

'Is there anything those men could have done that would have disproved that they were Al Qaeda terrorists?'

His answer was that they shouldn't have destroyed the Twin Towers

Basically, he already knew that they were guilty (because he had been told by the media that they were), and the details of anything they did before the attacks, however banal or contradictory to the notion that they were religious fanatics, was to be interpreted in that light

Once you adopt that kind of mindset absolutely anything a person you've identified as a criminal does will be damning proof of their guilt

Critical thinking clearly isn't as popular as it once was but, even so, it should still be fairly clear that theories which are phrased in a way that they can't ever be disproved, even if they are wrong, are not very useful theories at all

They are, however, the basis of much top quality comedy - including many a Marx Brothers routine, huge chunks of Catch-22 and the scene in Life of Brian where Brian denies that he's the Christ and is then informed that 'Only the True Messiah denies his divinity'

That which makes for top quality comedy does not, however, make for top quality inquests...


From the afternoon session on the 11th:

You could write a longish essay exploring how many different flavours of intellectual dishonesty feature in the above extract from the 7/7 Inquest proceedings

but the short answer is, 'a lot'

Personally, I was a totally up for it and about five minutes after arriving had secured enough supplies and equipment to see me through anything but a direct hit, along with suitable camera equipment to record the ghastly and hopefully highly photogenic aftermath

But to move down there because you think it would be some kind of safe haven from environmental catastrophe?

That says an awful lot about the level of ignorance of one subset of the AGW crowd .

It's worth reading the full account of the brutal, children's sports equipment based, ambush those vicious peace protesters had set for the brave IDF fighters. The tone of this nonsense is genuinely reminiscent of the justifications the Nazis used when explaining their atrocities away.

The purpose of crap like this is not to win over the hearts and minds of opponents or the undecided . It's put out so that the Faithful have a rationalisation for murder they can dissonantly cling onto. Deep down, they don't really give a shit if it's true or not

And yes, I know I've broken Godwin's Law, but the parallels are really there and genuinely creepy and unsettling

Comedy Gold!!

It's late, I'm tired and I don't even know where to start with this post

I'll do the short version and maybe tidy it up later...

A year or so ago a 7/7 'Truth Video' called 7/7 Ripple Effect started appearing on all the usual Conspiraloon internet outlets

I hated it

Whilst it incorporated some solid research into the many weaknesses in the official 7/7 narrative, much of it apparently lifted from J7T, the film also included what I believed to be unsubstantiated speculation presented as fact

I didn't find myself liking the film any more when I discovered that the person behind it was a character who calls himself Muad'dib and who proclaims himself to be the Messiah ...and the Rightful King of England and Israel

Oh dear, yet another White Man with a God Complex




My concerns about 7/7 Ripple Effect turned to outright horror when I heard that Muad'dib was contacting 7/7 researchers and asking them to join in with him in a campaign to send his video to grieving relatives of 7/7 victims

Coincidentally, I also heard that the BBC Production team working on a 'documentary' on 7/7 Conspiracy Theorists was talking with Muad'dib, along with a denier of the Jewish holocaust called Nick Kollestrom.

The fact that wannabee Christ 2.0 Muad'dib had appeared on the 7/7 research scene about five minutes before talking with the BBC was, of course, in no way suspicious

To cut a long story short, everyone who I personally rate in the field of active 7/7 scepticism stuck a finger up to the BBC, Muad'dib and his dodgy little film

All went quiet

Until...

Gardai are investigating a series of packages sent to two Irish judges who have dealt with the case of an Englishman fighting extradition to Britain for posting DVDs to a British judge and jury.

The DVD, entitled '7/7 Ripple Effect' claims the 7/7 bombings in London were "an inside job".

High Court judge Mr Justice Michael Peart alerted the authorities after he received seven packages since March 19 last, some of which contained a DVD indicating that they related to the case of Sheffield born Anthony John Hill.

Mr Hill (60) is wanted to stand trial in the United Kingdom for perverting the course of public justice during a criminal trial relating to the 2005 attacks which killed 52 commuters, four suicide bombers and injured 700 others. If convicted Mr Hill, who claims he is the leader of a church known as The Way, faces up to life in prison.

The packages, which were unopened by Judge Peart, were posted from Finland, the US and Qatar. Another judge, who also dealt with Mr Hill's case following his arrest in Ireland on February 10, also received similar material by post.

Judge Peart, who last week ruled that Mr Hill should be extradited to Britain, said in his judgment that he wanted to express his disapproval of the actions of those who sought to send him material in the strongest possible terms and said it was "clearly an attempt" to influence his decision.

Extradition

Mr Hill is currently in custody in an Irish prison and may appeal his extradition.

The DVDs, copies of which were also sent to five relatives of the victims, were intercepted by officials at Kingston Crown Court during the trial last year of people involved of assisting the 2005 bombings.

The film, widely available on the internet, blames the UK government and security services for the explosions in central London on July 7 2005. The filmmakers say the 7/7 bombers were innocent individuals who were duped into participating in what they thought was a training exercise.

The British authorities claim Mr Hill's fingerprints were found on packages sent from Ireland to the London-based judge and jury foreman in May and June 2008.

When arrested by gardai Mr Hill had €100,000 worth of gold bullion in krugerrand coins, the South African currency.


Mr Hill's lawyers, at an earlier hearing, requested that Judge Peart view the DVD, but the judge chose not to."


It's possibly worth noting that one of Muad'dib's followers has attempted to cadge 3,500 euros for Muad'dib's bail off the members of a UK 9/11 forum (a site I support in no sense of the word)

It's hard enough trying to increase awareness about the gaping holes in the official 7/7 narrative without having the difficulty of that task compounded by the apparently endless stream of bizarre characters who seem to go out of their way to reinforce the mainstream media's depiction of 'conspiracy theorists' as being nutty as squirrel shit with a boundless capacity to believe the most outrageous bollocks

And if I had 100,000 Euro in gold coins the last place I'd expect to keep hold of it is in the Land of the Little People
