A11 work and no play makes Jack a dull boy

A few years ago I posted a link to Rob Ager's analysis of Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange

Being a Kubrick fan, and a loon, I thought Ager had come up with some interesting, dare I say Illuminating, observations about the film and made a strong case that Kubrick himself was a bit
of a loon

Quite a lot of a loon actually

However, as Ager himself pointed out, just because Kubrick believed in the existence of certain fruity little clubs with a taste for occult practices, mind control and recreational global domination, that does not constitute proof that any of what Kubrick believed is real

All it proves is that Kubrick stuffed his films full of coded references and symbolism

Having said all that, here's some quality Old Skool loonery on the subject of Kubrick and NAZA's Apollo (television?) programme...

(edit 6/9/11 - sadly, the above video 'Kubrick's Odyssey' appears to have been pulled from Youtube after a complaint from its producer about, of all things, copyright violation)

It's worth the price of admission just for the rocket launch sequence at the end of Part 3 alone

After watching this, The Shining makes a shed load more sense than it ever did before

Mainstream Conspiraloons #207 - Lord James of Blackheath

"Wibble"

Now here's
something you don't read every day...

"For the past 20 weeks I have been engaged in a very strange dialogue with the two noble Lords, in the course of which I have been trying to bring to their attention the willing availability of a strange organisation which wishes to make a great deal of money available to assist the recovery of the economy in this country. For want of a better name, I shall call it foundation X. That is not its real name, but it will do for the moment. Foundation X was introduced to me 20 weeks ago last week by an eminent City firm, which is FSA controlled. Its chairman came to me and said, "We have this extraordinary request to assist in a major financial reconstruction. It is megabucks, but we need your help to assist us in understanding whether this business is legitimate". I had the biggest put down of my life from my noble friend Lord Strathclyde when I told him this story. He said, "Why you? You're not important enough to have the answer to a question like that". He is quite right, I am not important enough, but the answer to the next question was, "You haven't got the experience for it". Yes I do. I have had one of the biggest experiences in the laundering of terrorist money and funny money that anyone has had in the City. I have handled billions of pounds of terrorist money."

Lord James is 72

.

Time to go away now

Once upon a time if you wanted to bomb the crap out of someone you used to have to use something like this...

The Avro Lancaster. An iconic aircraft viewed with respect and affection by the British people who lived through World War 2. Which, given the huge number of people who died in them and were killed by them, is a pretty strong endorsement for the effectiveness of wartime propaganada

Britain built 7,500 Lancasters at a cost of something like £50,000 each (£1,600,000
in today's money).

About 3,300 of these planes and their crews of seven highly trained men were shot down during the war. Total RAF Bomber Command losses of all types of aircraft was 8,500 planes and 57,000 crew

Which was fab news for the industrialists who sold the aircraft and the bankers who created the money to
buy them but, still, not as profitable as it could have been.

Back in those days, building and
operating fleets of bombers required masses of skilled labour that needed training and paying

All of which reduced the bottom line severely

Nowadays, thanks to improved technology, if you want to bomb the crap out of someone you can use
something like this...

and one of these...

...coming in at a higher unit cost than an Avro Lancaster, a much lower labour component and the operators pay to train themselves whilst they're still children

It would be lovely to think that all those labour savings mean that people who would otherwise be fabricating and operating machinery of mass death would consequently be employed fabricating and operating other, less unpleasant things

Unfortunately, our current System does not require their skills anywhere else either

For something like 100-150 years that System required an educated, skilled workforce to tend
machinery and manage empire. Thanks to advances in technology, most of that educated, skilled workforce is now surplus to requirements and the System would like Us to, thanks for everything, go away now

And before We go away, that System would like to hoover up whatever crumbs of capital We managed to
collectively accumulate over those last 100-150 years

All of which should be bleeding obvious but a lot of people just don't seem to get it and insist on
believing that news like this...

...is somehow an unfortunate consequence of the harsh economic times we live in and not part of
a Systematic eradication of a class of people that is now surplus to requirements

It would seem that, by some completely unguided, stochastic process, our colleges and universities are being transformed
from institutions which produce educated people capable of productive work and critical thinking into factories which produce dumbed-down debt bitches primed for a lifetime of shitty, service sector jobs and neo-serfdom

Which is just what our establishment needs and wants

What a marvelous coincidence

At which point one could argue till the cows come home whether this marvelous coincidence is...

a) the result of deliberate planning by a shadowy cabal of finance capitalists conspiring away on a
little island somewhere

or

b) the natural consequence of finance capitalists acting in their class interest without much in the way of deliberate collusion

But to be honest, as with most of these debates about whether or not a conspiracy is at work, when
you are on the receiving end the motivations of the people fucking you are largely academic

Your first priority should be to relieve your tormentors of the means by which they are fucking you

Still Bill

Great news for people who enjoy watching videos that explain Fiat Currency and Fractional Reserve Banking for the umpteenth time

Not one, but two new video presentations of monetary truthiness are now available on-line

The Secret Oz

(Keepvid is your friend)

Not so much a sequel as a reworking of Bill Still’s Conspiraloon classic, The Money Masters.

Bill has stopped fiddling endlessly with his biro whilst explaining how we’re all being shafted by the Hidden Overlords of Finance Capital but the shonky camera work and Stillted delivery style we’ve all grown to know and love remain

Bill does a nice job of explaining why reverting to a Gold Standard would be playing into the hands of the Shadowy Overlords (They control its supply) but doesn’t half talk some bollocks when romanticising periods of history when people weren’t subjects of the bankers

I also particularly enjoyed the part where Bill makes reference to the eradication of mutual, non-profit savings institutions across the Western World in the 80s and 90s (which helped pave the way for the current upsurge in global financial larceny) as if it were something that ‘just happened’, like rain

The Money Fix

(I haven’t found out how to view this off-line, short of forking out some hard-earned Fiat to buy a copy, which is a pain)

Featuring the usual run through of the principles of Fractional Reserve Banking and the increasingly mandatory praise for the creation of local currencies.

This film does include a nice touch of drawing parallels between the exchange of goods and services between people and natural ecosystems of mutually supporting organisms. As such, the result is just a teensy wee bit Marxist in its analysis of why our current financial system is fucked

Marx, as I keep reading on the Internet, was a paid tool of the Zionist Bankers. I am also frequently being informed by the same sources that the current financial crisis and associated bail-outs (thefts) are nothing less than part of a Communist plot to finally secure world domination once and for all

I have one or two problems with this particular world view

There are many competing definitions of what constitutes ‘true’ Communism, or Free Market Capitalism, and the ones that seem to have been adopted by right wing loons go something like...

  • Free Market Capitalism = A system under which I personally make money
  • Communism = A system under which I personally lose money

Personally speaking, I think this is misguided, ever so self-centred, and plain wrong.

Just because the same kleptocratic system which bought the acquiescence of the Middle Classes with a little bit of illusory wealth creation and 3rd world rape is now evaporating that ‘wealth’ that does not mean that this kleptocracy was somehow magically and seamlessly transformed into a Communist system

If it’s Communism today then it was Communism back when Reagan and Thatcher were doing their thing and beyond. The fact that the previously unreamed are now being reamed does not mean that the system has changed, just its victims.

As for the Marx thing, all I can say is that the more I learn about Marx the more I find myself agreeing with his analyses. The people who make connections between Marx and the Banksters generally leave their criticisms at the fact that, yes, there were connections but they don’t actually tackle the meat of what Marx had to say

That’s not good enough

This may come as news to people who push the ‘Marx was a tool of the Banksters’ meme but every idea that looks like it is going somewhere is, with varying degrees of success, co-opted and turned into a tool of the plutocrats

and that most certainly includes Free Market Capitalism

as well as Communism

and Environmentalism

and Secularism

and Theism

and pretty much any kind of ism that looks like it’s going to make its mark on the world

The give-away moment normally comes when non-compliance with a particular ‘ism’ results in state-sanctioned theft and violence against the individual. It's about then that you can be pretty sure a bunch of fuckers has hijacked a decent or interesting idea with a view to robbing you at gunpoint

Tories back in power! F***ing AWESOME!!

Homesick...

For reasons that aren't important right now, I find myself in a position where I have to choose between continuing to be an expat or returning home to the UK

Until a few days ago I was all set to click the button, buy the ticket and return back to Blighty. A decision my family and close friends were supportive of

And then something interesting happened

Quite a few of my friends and family have started suggesting that I hold my horses and think about hanging on for a bit, certainly until my right to return to somewhere a long way from the UK becomes unconditional

Some have pointed to the relatively high cost of living and dire economic prospects of the UK as a reason for staying away. Both of which are very fair points. From the point of view of anyone who isn't an oligarch, the UK fucked

A couple of other people though have cited the newly, er, 'elected' Conservative government as a primo reason for keeping the Hell away from Dodge

Bollocks

Personally, I think the Tories back in power is awesome news and the best conceivable outcome for the recent General Election

and the fact that the Tories have been forced into an unholy coalition with the Lib-Dems is just icing on the cake

It matters not a jot which figurehead is in charge of the supposed government. The Lords of Finance Capital controlled what went on in the UK before the General Election, and continue to do so after the General Election

What can change as the result of the election is people's perceptions of what is being done to them

I remember 20 years ago when a quarter of a million angry people tore up London in protest against a Community Charge which, in the scheme of things, was pretty much fuck all

And since then, with the noble exception of the protest against the invasion of Iraq, not a fucking squeak

Maybe, now that the Tories are nominally in charge, all those muppets who stood by all the ghastly things Nu Labour inflicted on the UK and world over the last 13 years might get off their arses and start opposing some of those ghastly things

Instead of supporting a political party on the basis that 'At least they're not the Tories' maybe it's about time a few more people defined their beliefs in terms of what they think is right and decent

because there ain't been much in the way of righteous and decency in the way the UK has been governed for a long, long time

-

edit: and hats off to the Daily Mash, it continues to be by far and away the best serious news channel in the United Kingdom..

"Meanwhile the prospect of a Labour-led 'progressive' coalition has been welcomed by thousands of limbless Iraqis, torture victims and people whose DNA is now kept on a database because they signed a petition in the post office about a new bypass.

Abdul Al-Kaleem, a former limb owner from Basra, said: "I admire the British Labour Party. They managed to progress my legs off very efficiently, while my Uncle Karim was progressed over a wide area.

"I remember being handed what was left of his chin and thinking 'yes, this is definitely progress'..."

...and back to Michael Parenti

Michael Parenti - the quintessential pinko commie subversive

As an antidote to all that bullcrap from the BBC I've been linking to recently, here's me re-linking to a couple of talks by Michael Parenti which I consider to be absolutely essential listening for any budding Conspiraloons out there...

  • The JFK Assassination and the Gangster Nature of the State - Part 1 - Part 2

Parenti is essential listening because his ideas break out from the narrow confines of what currently constitutes 'permissable' political discourse

Parenti is a very robust and articulate spokesperson for those of us who believe that...
  • there is such a thing as an elitist class
  • there is such a thing as an elitist class interest
  • that elitist interest is pursued with sometimes deliberate, sometimes covert, intent
It goes without saying that those of us who hold the above parapolitical beliefs are currently dismissed as lunatic, whackjob conspiracy theorists

...very often by newspapers and television stations that are owned or controlled by that non-existent elitist class which has no vested elitist class interest and which pursues its non-existent interests completely in the open with total respect for all human life.

Sad to say, I'm unaware of any heavyweight British academics of Parenti's quality. Come to think of it, there aren't many North American ones either. Peter Dale Scott comes to mind

None of the above constitues an unqualified endorsement of Parenti. He advocates some views and solutions I personally disagree with but his analysis of the socio-economic structure of our current system is bang on the money imho

-

And whilst bigging up pinko commie subversives it's also worth mentioning a particular meme that's been doing the rounds on the conspirasphere since the current economic crisis entered a more overt stage...

That is the idea that, through the banking bailouts, the British and US governments are imposing Communism on their people via the back door

Hmmmmmmmmm, I'll just scratch my chin pensively for a second or two there

Maybe if the British and US governments were nationalising profitable businesses and putting them completely under state control then, yes, that could be a form of Communism

But what is actually happening is that the British and US governments are handing over stonking amounts of public cash, cash that will take generations to tax back off people, to the bankers in exchange for absolutely fuck all, and certainly no publicly-accountable control

That's as good an expression of Corporate Fascism*, not Communism, as you're ever likely to see

What's going on here is an awful lot of middle-class conservatives can see that they're getting buttfucked but cannot bring themselves to acknowledge that it's the very system they've endorsed all these years that is being harnessed to do the buttfucking

ergo, it must be communist in some way

yeah, right

hmmm, much cognitive dissonance

We didn't have genuinely free markets before the current crash got under way and they are not being replaced by communism. We lived under a oligarchical kleptocracy before the crash and we still live under a oligarchical kleptocracy after. The New World Order is the just the same as the Old One. It's just a tad more overt these days, that's all

I'd be the first person to acknowledge that populist concepts such as socialism, or environmentalism, or even religion get hijacked and subverted to suit elitist, totalitarian ends but that doesn't mean that ideals such as enviromental awareness, a desire for social justice or the natural human tendency for spirituality are intrinsically evil; even if some right evil bastards take control of them sometimes

There is, unfortunately, plenty of scope to get downhearted and depressed about the apparent power of the interests that would screw us all over and the flaws in the infilitrated movements which claim to oppose them but, fuck it, it's how we respond to the challenges in Life which define and shape who we are.

-

* = of course, according to some right wing loons, Fascism doesn't actually exist and all Bad Things that have been attributed to Fascism in the past are, in truth, Socialist. Take this comment recently seen on The Antagonist's blog for example...

"Talking of 'fascism' (a term you throw around with the abandon of a child with a toy) do a little research, comrade, and you'll discover that both Mussolini and Hitler were socialists. Not to mention Stalin, Mao and all the other squalid little regimes around the world that have caused the world so much suffering. They've probably notched up a good 250 million murders at least between them. Talk about state oppression!"

Yup, neither Mussolini nor Hitler were fascists. An outstanding expose of Real™ History

here's another fucking commie to add to the list

Pyramid Spotting

A little something to illustrate a comment underneath an earlier post...

University College London Hospital. Hmmm, pointy...

If the City of London is the centre of the financial power of the British oligarchical elite,
the area around University College is the heart of its psychological and pharmaceutical power.

The City is about fucking with your wallet. Bloombsury is about fucking with your brain and your body

Bloomsbury is home to a delightful mix of state run academia, big pharma and benevolent (sic.)
charitable foundations, all fused into one big yummy, indistinguishable mass; which some people would describe as fascistic but I think is just plain scary

The local architecture is a bit of a
give-away

And one thing that continues to baffle me is, how when some of us point out that the oligarchical elite has a demonstrable fondness for fruity little clubs, rituals, symbolism and architecture, the sheer lunacy of the fruity little clubs, rituals, symbolism, and architecture is somehow laid at the door of the people doing the pointing out, not the people responsible for it all

Did I mention that the Tavistock Institute was founded in Bloomsbury?

Global Financial Crisis to Engulf Us All - Chavs to Blame

This little teaser in the Times On-Line just caught my eye...

Imagine my disappointment on clicking the link to discover that the article in question wasn't referring to the billions looted over the years by the likes of the Windsors and Rothschilds but was a dreary article about how ghastly the working and middle class unemployed are

In true hyperlink fashion, whilst reading through that piece of distractive shit, yet another teaser caught my eye...

Well, that was definitely going to include some Rothschilds

er, no, not really...

So, over to the Forbes Top 200 Wealthiest People of All Time from which the Top Ten were taken

Nope, still no joy

And then, tucked away as a note at the bottom of the Forbes List...

"It is widely known that the DuPont, Forbes and Rothschild families are among the wealthiest families. However, their fortunes have not yet been effectively calculated"

Actually, whoever wrote that footnote was being quite modest, as I could rattle off the names of at least a dozen other people (all bankers) who should have been included in the list

So, that would be the 'Forbes Not Really the Top 200 Wealthiest People of All Time as we've missed out some of the richest bastards ever, including our own founder' list then

The moral of the tale?

Quite a few people have an opinion about losers like this...

A considerably smaller number of people have an opinion about, or even know about the existence of, twunts like this...

Now why would that be?

Blah

I'm currently suffering from that strange, joyless feeling serial pessimists experience when their worst fears are fulfilled

Where's the fun in being right about something if people are suffering

Whilst not monster-significant in itself, the UK pre budget report earlier this week was, for me, the final straw

The UK is officially broke

The only solution the UK government has to offer is a small reduction in tax on discretionary consumption. A cynical incentive to encourage a few more people to buy just a little bit more imported shit to stick on the final bill

Even using the most optimistic figures, our government has admitted that the country will be driven deeper and deeper into debt until at least 2015

The banksters have won

Again

The reaping will begin shortly

What a lot of people don't comprehend is that the really big fortunes are made not in economically good times but in the immediate aftermath of economically awful times

As mentioned previously, the heavily promoted ideas of the likes of Klein and Taleb support the fairy tale that 'Disaster Capitalism' and the exploitation of completely unexpected financial catastrophes is in some way a new idea

That's a lie

The truth is that these kind of events are totally predictable, often deliberately engineered. and carpetbagging is as old as the hills

...though the concept of people funding their own serfdom, by thoughtfully stuffing their future overlords' carpetbags full of 'bail-out' cash, is a nice new touch

Ordinary UK citizens will now endure decades of debt slavery, where increasingly huge slabs of national income are siphoned off, directly and indirectly, in interest payments

At some point the government will attempt to reduce the value of debt with a Weimar/ Zimbabwe style printing frenzy...

That's assuming the existing system actually holds up

Otherwise things could get very interesting indeed

The New Look UK Treasury Team c. 2012

On the bright side, British police will be packing 10,000 shiny new tasers real soon now and the roll-out of the new ID/ Ration/ Travel Permit/ Record of Personal Indebtedness Card is well on its way.

The UK will start looking and feeling just a teensy wee bit like a naturally-moated, open prison

Snake Plissken - reportedly thinking about settling down in SE London

There are paths we can follow to avoid the oncoming mess but no-one in mainstream media and politics, and depressingly few in the alternative media are talking about them

Of course, these are just the worst fears of a serial pessimist

For everyone else, here's a picture of a puppy...

The Grand Old Folk of York - They had Ten Thousand pounds...

There seem to be quite a few people currently shuffling money around from bank to bank in a desperate attempt to avoid having their savings evaporate

Of course, given that the root cause of the problem is the inherent worthlessness of the money itself there really isn't much point

Some of the more shrewd savers are looking to switch their loot into gold - but, thanks to its rigged low price, it's in short supply. On top of that, even if someone did mange to build up a small stock, all those lovely new money laundering laws will have the totally unforeseen consequence of the authorities knowing exactly who to call on if and when things really do get that bad

You might be one of those people who were planning to get into the housing market when prices fell and have been saving what they can in recent years.

And yes, house prices will fall - but unless you can find a house made out of gingerbread and coal, the rising prices of everything except houses will mean that you won't be able to feed or warm yourself inside your lovely new home

Inflation must and will be allowed to destroy the capital of the minority of ordinary people who were fortunate or astute enough to avoid debt slavery

but if you must go through the ritual of switching a worthless accounting entry from one useless fiat bank to another useless fiat bank there really can, and will, be only one...

and if this all gets a bit much to bear may I recommend the excellent 'Recession Blocker' news filter...

Mainstream Conspiraloons #322 - Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur

Thanks to The Antagonist for bringing my attention to the improbably named Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur waxing truthily on the subject of the proposed Wall Street bailout...

I haven't been discussing the most recent financial shenanigans much with people, either on-line or in the real world. That which much of us knew was coming is now here and will now run its course

It goes without saying that the proposed bailout is clearly a nonsense.

It also goes without saying that our beloved leader Gordon BrNWO supports it wholeheartedly

Along with Brown's repeated references to an 'Economic New World Order' and 'doing whatever it takes to maintain stability', this should give anyone living on this bankrupt, CCTV-saturated little island the willies

Any bail out of Wall Street, or the City, will fail for a very simple reason

Over the last twenty years the US and the UK economies have become structurally reliant on the creation of irredeemable debt. The income and lifestyles of hundreds of millions of people are totally dependent on the perpetual creation and expansion of eye-watering amounts of credit

and it's all over

Even if some Magic Pixies came along and made all the bad debts and all the 12 figure derivatives liabilities go away, there's going to be no more easy credit going forward and anyone whose business or job is dependent on a world filled with people living beyond their means is going to get fucked.

And that's going to happen with or without a bailout

Optimists would say this is an excellent opportunity to see the end of 'Unipolar' Corporate Global Empire and to reorient our societies and populations to the production of solar powered Jetsons-style flying bubble cars, decent education systems and organic potatoes, instead of cluster bombs, invasive bureaucracy and junk food

oToH Pessimists would say that this is an excellent opportunity to see the reintroduction of feudalism and to increase our societies' output of cluster bombs,
invasive bureaucracy and junk food

I'm not optimistic

Rambling #2 - aka The Genius of Darwin

Here's a new friend of mine...

I met him whilst walking in the fresh, crispy mountains of Italy last week. I think it's what the locals call a 'Ghiro' - in English a 'Fat Dormouse'.

Conspiracy fans will be delighted to learn that the fat dormouse was introduced to the UK a 100 hundred years ago by Lord Rothschild...

"Their nickname is the Seven Sleepers as they hibernate for seven months of the year. Walter Rothschild, who later became the second Baron Rothschild, brought the first six Glis Glis to England in 1902. No-one knows exactly how, but they escaped into the wild from the Rothschild home at Tring Park and have spread and bred! However, instead of happily hibernating out of doors they moved inside for the English winter! Soon, local farmers were complaining of apple stores being ruined and local people were hearing unexplained bumps in the night ... a sure sign that the Glis Glis were making themselves quite at home in the attic. One woman was convinced she was going mad!"

This was clearly a pioneering act of primitive bioterrorism, though how fat dormice fit in exactly with the global banking conspiracy, the foundation of Israel, freemasonry and space aliens is still not 100% clear to me

-

And because I'm more than a little bit sad, all the walking I've been doing here and in my Mothersland and my encounters with fat dormice, amusingly-shaped mushrooms (another time, another photo) and all sorts of other livings things in their natural environment, I've been pondering upon the 'Genius of Darwin' as much as ever - especially the impact of Darwinism on the way people think

As it happens, whether Darwin was right or wrong about the Evolution of Life makes virtually bugger all difference to most people's daily lives.
However, Darwinism has affected the way people interpret tangible events that do impact on their daily lives

Before Darwinism and the Enlightenment, most people believed that someone, or some entity, was responsible for everything that happened. The weather, the outcome of battles, the shape of tea leaves in a cup, the throw of some dice; all was the Will of some god or other.

There was no such thing as chance. Everything that happened was the predetermined outcome of a controlling intelligence

After Darwin, it was considered very clever to believe that everything of any importance or scale was the result of blind chance. Any pattern of events that appeared to be result of design was simply the result of blind chance combined with some kind of selection mechanism

The result was that, in the act of denying the Hand of God in natural affairs, Darwinism also had the consequence of denying the Hand of Man in human affairs

Anyone who suggests that the course of human, or natural affairs, may be the result of the interplay of intelligent planning and the natural selection of random events is now branded an irrational religious lunatic or a conspiracy theorist

Shit just happens

and if you don't believe that Shit just happens then you're only fit for the Funny Farm

Because I'm a Loon I believe that the promotion of this kind of thinking, as an essentially exclusive model to explain how the world works, was an entirely deliberate course of action - but I would wouldn't I

If you would like to witness a nice example of what I'm talking about, the mainstream coverage of the recent financial turmoil is a nice case history

The unwavering message of the mainstream coverage of the 'Credit Crunch' is...

  • The impending implosion of our financial system is an unintended consequence of unreasoning, animalistic, undirected greed and fear

  • No-one could have predicted it

  • There is no predetermined objective

  • The people responsible for our great financial institutions are honestly trying to unfuck things as best as they can for the Common Good

The possibility that the crisis could have been deliberately engineered in some way, and that some very clever, powerful people knew exactly what was going to happen, is deemed so unlikely it is not raised even to be debunked

Presumably, the fact that so many On-line Conspiranauts have been predicting this crash for years, in accordance with their insane models of how the world really works, is merely blind luck

And if all those CCTV cameras, databases, terrorism laws and detention infrastructure are turned towards,
instead of the shadowy terrorists, a general public fucked-off with being robbed blind that will be an unintended outcome too

.

Not long to wait now pt 374

...and whilst on the subject of the impending Global Financial Apocalypse we Loons have been foretelling for some time, now's a good time to, yet again, dust off that famous Jefferson quote...

"If the American people ever allow the banking system to control their money, first by inflation, then by deflation; their children will one day wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

It is a much repeated though, I suspect, not completely understood quote

I think people understand the inflation part of the con because they have experienced it in their daily lives. Deflation, for the moment anyway, is a much more theoretical concept

-

Strange things are going on in the world of money right now - retail inflation is going through the roof, yet the prices of shares and commodities are going through the floor

And because I'm such a nice person I'm writing this post to explain to anyone who bumps into it exactly what is happening, and that is...

Virtually no-one in the global finance industry knows
what the fuck is going on

Quite simple really

The recent spikes in the price of oil and food weren't the result of the Chinese eating steaks and driving SUVs, Peak Oil or biofuel production

Nope

Total bollocks

All of it

The price volatility is the result of people not knowing whether to hold onto cash or not

  • If you expect that the shadowy fuckers who control money supply are going to print money like there's no tomorrow and dilute the value of the £, $ or Euro in your pocket, you would be daft to hold onto the stuff. You'd buy something more tangible with it whilst there were still idiots out there daft enough to take it
  • If, on the other hand, you expect the amount of cash in the system to start evaporating, every time a bank goes down the toilet for instance, then you'll hold onto cash and turn everything you can into cash in anticipation of its scarcity and buying power increasing

The trick is, of course, knowing for sure if the amount of money in circulation is going to increase or decrease

And the shadowy fuckers who do know aren't telling

So, there are a lot of very silly, very well paid people moving into and out of cash, commodities, equities and derivatives like headless, very well paid chickens

And, because virtually none of them know what the fuck is going on, they all pile in behind anyone who looks even faintly like he does - which makes for some very large, and not necessarily rational, price swings

It will all end in tears

-

As it happens, I've had a few emails today from chums and acquaintances in the wonderful world of finance, sharing all sorts of little snippets and rumours of various large institutions bracing themselves for a major poo storm in the next couple of days

And whenever the real poo storm does finally kick off, be it this week, next month or next year, there's one thing you can be sure of. Those of us with money deposited in any bank that fails will have to take their chances. Those of us who owe money to any bank that fails can sleep easy knowing that their debt will be 100% safe whatever happens

Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind

Thanks to the Underdoug for a link to this out-take from Max Keiser's show which predicted trouble in Georgia last year...

This clip was filmed for inclusion in a program about the role of the World Bank in deliberately subjugating and ripping off developing countries...

(Anyone who's read John Perkin's
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man will be on familiar ground here

Perkins claims that, as an 'economic hit man', his function was to convince the political and financial leadership of underdeveloped countries to accept enormous development loans from institutions like the World Bank. Saddled with huge debts they could not hope to pay, these countries were forced to acquiesce to political pressure to 'reform' their economies and turn over public assets and resources to private finance.

The catch, of course, in Perkins' thesis was its implication that this sort of thing happened in the past, as opposed to the present, and only happened to developing countries)

In his film Kaiser mentions the World Bank funded BTC pipeline. A provocative little number which may end up transporting oil to Ashkelon and Eilat - which might explain those rumours of Israeli ornithologists and cycle tourists taking their summer holidays in the Caucasus
