Creepiest Websites of the Day

Obviously, it goes without saying that Radical Islam and Scientology are by far and away the two greatest threats to our way of life and collective mental health in the world today. And it is right that they receive as much coverage as they do. However, I'd like to share a few links that are worth visiting briefly if you're the kind of person who enjoys feeling creeped out at the gradual realisation that there's a whole subculture of influential organisations out there devoted to fucking with everyone's heads for God knows what purpose...

Phew, it's just as well that so many ordinary people are aware of the kind of things these outfits do and know what to look out for.

CP I've known about for a while, they make Scientology look harmless.

Engage I learned about today and the Tavistock Institute, well, I accidentally enrolled...

"According to the conspiracy-obsessed Lyndon LaRouche network and author Dr. John Coleman Committee of 300, the Tavistock Institute is a major component of the vast, secret, timeless, conspiracy that controls everything. The London bombs of July 2005 are believed by conspiracy theorists to have been connected in some way to the Tavistock Institute. One of the July 7 bombs (the bus bomb) blew up on Tavistock Square, just metres from the original site of the Tavistock Clinic, the forerunner of the Institute. Bizarrely, two of the failed London bombers (the alleged planters of the July 21 bombs) were subsequently arrested by police in Tavistock Crescent."

Just as well you're an unrepentent conspiraloon, Stef! ;)

Here's a little test for you and all your readers....

Using nothing more than a simple search engine, see how many transcripts of well known politicians' speeches you can find that contain the expression, "common purpose".

Hint: Try starting with presidents and prime ministers whose reigns of terror fall within living memory.

Another little factoidette....

The spokesman and representative, since September 2005, for the Khan and highly respected Patel families, Suresh Grover -- who recently appeared on the news after the high-profile arrest of, amongst others, the widow of Mohammed Sidique Khan, Hasina Patel -- is featured in a case study on the Common Purpose web site.

@ant - so, you've noticed the 'conspiraloon' update. It seemed only reasonable what with everything that's going on. I was also toying with emphasising the fact that I actually do come from London but decided that would be petty. True but petty

Of course I noticed, Stef, none of us got where we are today without noticing trainspotter-like details that significantly affect the bigger picture.

It's about time the word 'Conspiraloon'™ was reclaimed and transformed from the futile and meaningless insult it is meant to be into what it actually is, the power of observing small groups of well-connected folk undertaking 'business as usual' who expect the great unwashed masses not to notice as they swan, practically unchecked, about the world making plans for even more 'business as usual' without let or hindrance from the great unwashed masses.

Perhaps a 'Conspiraloon'™ web ring might be in order which would at least include the estimable characters listed on my blog under the heading of Compañeros del Antagonista.

Paul: I can't find your email address on your profile but if you email me it (address on my blog, remove the spam) I'll add you to the Conspiraloon™ Alliance Conspiracy Central author list.

WTF!? Who said anything about posting anything?

Just in case neither of you has actually seen Clerks 2 the abject a failure of a guy attempting to reclaim the term ‘porch monkey’ is a constant source of amusement throughout the second half of the film

I would suggest that the proportion of people out there who would comprehend that labelling yourself a conspiraloon is an ironic way of stating ‘OK, now we’ve got the insults out of the way do you have actually have anything else to back up what you’re saying?’ is small. The majority would simply think you weren’t being serious in your pursuit of serious matters

The fact that the founding blogs of the Alliance would compromise one serious blog, one personal photoblog that has lost its way and an empty blog created for the occasion would seem to bear this out

Any impartial observer with a gambling problem would right now be mortgaging their home, cashing in any trust funds and betting heavily on the Forces of Darkness

Fuck it, I’m in…

Let's be 'avin ya, conspiraloons one and all.

By some amazing coincidence of conspiratorial conspiraloonery and synchronicity, entirely by accident, the first post on the blog of the Conspiraloon Alliance went up at 07:07 in whatever timezone the blog thinks it's in.

Now *that* is spooky!

Stef, the blog title has an explanation mark in it. Get it sorted or I'm splitting to form the real conspiraloon™ faction
