Terrorism Act 2000, Section 58, Subsections (1)-(4)

58. Collection of information.

(1) A person commits an offence if -

(a) he collects or makes a record of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, or

(b) he possesses a document or record containing information of that kind.

(2) In this section “record” includes a photographic or electronic record.

(3) It is a defence for a person charged with an offence under this section to prove that he had a reasonable excuse for his action or possession.

(4) A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable -

(a) on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years, to a fine or to both, or

(b) on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or to both.

Which basically means
anyone can be locked up in this country for up to ten years for the crime of possessing anything from a phone book to a DVD or even a photograph of a public building without the State having to demonstrate any criminal intent whatsoever or even any connection to people with criminal intent

Good eh?

Have you seen that episode where Murdoch and B.A. turn an ambulance into a tank using only a Swiss Army knife? A snip at only 6 months in Belmarsh

Still, as long as They only use this kind of legislation to stick it to wogs there's no harm done is there?

"(a) he collects or makes a record of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, or"

Would that include if a terrorist that 'collects' a 'useful' tube map from a tube station for the purpose of 'preparing' an act of terrorism.

Another badly worded, rushed piece of shit that has been passed for law which further undermines the law itself.

So when are the corrupt officials of TfL in the dock for distributing material which no doubt helps terrorists to commit acts of terrorism?

This is not incompetence, this is the hallmark of a police state mentality.

As my nanny used to say .."of course he's been a naughty man, otherwise the policemen wouldn't have locked him up"

What is incompetence is the failure to prosecute the hairdressers supplies store that supplied the 21/7 comedians unfeasibly excessive quabntities of Hydrogen peroxide.

Time we started a "War on The Hairdressers!"... er .. and their suppliers.

Hairdressers and supermarkets are covered by Section 57 of the Act

Up to apoint Lord Copper ...

"It is a defence for a person charged with an offence under this section in relation to instruction or training to prove that his action or involvement was wholly for a purpose other than assisting, preparing for or participating in terrorism."

So there's a let out for the blow and dry jobs ... Cut the crap I say , put the cosh on the crimpers.

Spot on. So is this.

Quite why some people find it easier to labour under the misapprehension that the police state is merely the product of idiocy is beyond me.

counter-terrorism measures are capable of application to speech or actions concerning resistance to an oppressive regime overseas…the creation of an offence of encouragement of “terrorism” … is to criminalise any expression of a view that armed resistance to a brutal or repressive anti-democratic regime might in certain circumstances be justifiable….

The Home Secretary … defends the scope [of the definition of “terrorism”] on the basis that there is nowhere in the world today where violence can be justified as a means of bringing about political change”

Source: Joint Human Rights Committee Report, 28 November 2005 (paragraph 12)

So, according to the State's own legislation, the violence that has been justified as a mean of bringing about political change in Iraq and Afghanistan means that the State minions guilty of collusion, or 'conspiracy', to bring about political change by violence should be hoisted by their own legislative petard.

As usual, the cops are too busy persecuting the working class to do anything about ruling class war criminals. This, however, should not stop the International Criminal Court from enforcing war and international law.

BJR AT 3ARGUIDOS SAID:

I have read this thread and feel that some of you are so upset in the way the forum is being run. My aim was to have an impartial forum, where pros, antis, fencesitters and even those that had no interest in the case to join and participate in debate of various nature. For the last 6 months I and many of the other mods have put our lives on hold to offer this to you. I am not asking for your sympathy or laying emotional blackmail on you, but I have forsaken family, friends and other interests because I have been on this forum practically 24/7 in order to bring this to you. Many nights I am here still logged on til 2 am in the morning and back here by about 9 am, perhaps it is time for me to have a think and perhaps get on with my life and just become a member of this forum.

My personal view on this is that the moment a pro posts up a thread or steps out of line and we jump straight down on them and start banning them and chucking them out the door that is the day we are admitting that we don't like or respect their views. And that is not what I want or see as an impartial forum. In all honesty I have seen attacks throughout this forum from both sides of the fence and my interpretation of impartiality is that no matter who the poster is and no matter from what side of the argument they come from, they should be treated equally.

Yes a thread was moved here to the lounge yesterday by a mod and yes I moved it back, why because the person that posted the thread was classed as some as being antagonising but putting my impartial hat on as admin I felt that they should have had the right to have their say in the Justice for Madeleine Forum. Now I am being accused of losing spunk, not caring and undermining mods. Sorry that you are all feeling that way, and I will not be logged on this weekend because I have a lot of thinking to do as to whether I wish to carry on in my Admin Role. This forum will not be dissolved, should I decide to step down, I am sure that Nbrado or one of the other Mods will step into my shoes and take over and keep this forum running. That decision will be down to the others and I will not have any say in it whatsoever, the only thing I will be doing is sorting out the transfer, which will not affect members in the slightest. Whether I have made decisions over the last view weeks that in some eyes have been incorrect, to them I apologise but I honestly thought I was being impartial.

I will let you all know what I have decided as soon as I have got things clear in my mind. Thank you for being patient and I will see you soon.

IT’S TOO LITTLE TOO LATE BJR.

http://forums.hostgator.com/showthread.php?t=28899

YOUR NAME IS ON THE INVOICE FOR THE FORUM. YOU ARE THE PERSON WHO IS CULPABLE FOR ANY LIBELLOUS COMMENTS AND THREATENING BEHAVIOUR. YOURS IS THE FORUM MADE UP OF THE MOST VILE, PSYCHOTIC, SELF-OBSESSED INDIVIDUALS THAT ROAM THE EARTH WHO THINK THEIR ACTIONS ARE ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE THEY HAVE FELLOW FORUM MEMBERS PATTING EACH OTHER ON THE BACK AFTER EVERY DEPRAVED UTTERANCE.

NBRADO MADE THREATS TO HIS WEB PLATFORM (ABOVE). HOSTGATOR HAS CHOSEN TO PLACE THIS FALL OUT INTO THE PUBLIC DOMAIN.

“NBRADO IS AN IDIOT. NBRADO IS EVERY HOSTS NIGHTMARE. NBRADO IS ALSO AN INTERNET SPAMMER.

THE3ARGUIDOS HAS BEEN RE-SOLD FROM HOSTGATOR TO THE PLANET, WHICH IS A NON-CONFIDENTIAL, PUBLIC PROXY SERVER. MEMBERS PERSONAL DETAILS AND BANK DETAILS ARE NOT SECURE WITH THIS WEB HOST.

Oh, and CarlyMichelle, from Tasmania didn’t appreciate being informed about the Hostgator situation and NBRADO’s reputation. But as long as it is “stateside” everything is supposedly above board. She wasn't keen on the shoe thread either. Maybe she's a flip-flop person.

CarlyMichelle is the greatest libeller at The3arguidos. She has made threats of violence in several threads against various people in real life and she named them.

Re the ICC - which is of course not recognised by the bringers of Freedom, the US Gubment so when ex Kosovan PM's and Bosnian genocidalists like General Gotovina who were the helpers (and usually the tools) of US imperialism end up in court.

Nothing surfaces about the way they were provided with arms, "supervisors" and "trainers" who were ex(?) military via private sceurity firms, plus satellite surveillance, UAV data etc., the US can just ignore the process and the results.

I love the pic of the 600 plods - at first glance I thought it was the check in staff at Heathrow terminal 5 getting ready to go to work in the morning.
