Great tits enjoying the warmer weather – so far

Putting aside the fact that average global temperature appears to be currently falling, I have been enjoying the sight of a couple of pairs of tits bouncing around my back yard for the last month or so and, yes, they do seem to be doing well

Apparently, scientists who have been staring at tits for over 30 years have discovered that tits have the uncanny ability to eat their favourite food if it becomes readily available earlier in the year

One would also suspect that tits also have the remarkable ability of eating less of their favourite food if it is not readily available

All of which proves, er, not very much at all

The New Scientist article includes a link to similar high grade research carried out on squirrels…

...which proves that when faced with abundant food supplies squirrels ‘evolve’ in less than four generations into… fat squirrels

This is pseudo-scientific bollocks of the highest quality; combining, as it does, both climate change bollocks and neo-Darwinist bollocks in one seamless, grant application-friendly package

A splendid week for Leni Riefenstahl fans

What a cracking few days it's been for fans of Nazis, Nazi neo-pagan imagery and the works of Leni Riefenstahl in particular

First we were treated to the sight of 600 stormcoppers recreating favourite scenes from Triumph of the Will over at Finsbury Park New Thermopylae last week

Then, a few days later, our Prime Minister hosted a summit on 'progressive (?) government' complete with a sNazi new logo

And, now, to round things off, more coppers and a few B-grade TV celebrities have spent the day running around London recreating some of the best bits from another of Leni's celebrated works...




Along with so much of the Olympics, that torch ceremony is 100% neo-pagan, Illuminated Nazi bullshit

Nazis, Fascists and members of other Illuminated fruity little clubs have historically had a hard-on for the Olympics; as the Olympics hark back to a fantasy past of greatness ...and order ...and physical and racial purity

And to illustrate my point there's a special valuable mystery prize on offer to anyone who can dig out a credible explanation for the design of the five interlocking Olympic rings which doesn't include reference to occult beliefs and fruity little clubs

Of course, people like me who point stuff like that out are the fruity ones, not the whack jobs who stage and propagate this kind of bullshit

Anyway, the coverage given to today's torch ceremony, its associated security and the efforts of protesters (genuine and CIA-sponsored) to fuck things up was on the, er, heavy side...




Kind of suspiciously heavy. I'm still trying to figure out what the core message to viewers was. Possible messages include...

- Hate China, lots
- Remember, Over the Top policing is now the New Normal
- Doublethink is fun, and not all that difficult if you give it a try


or maybe a combination of all of the above

Here's that Newsnight piece on neo-con fake think tank Policy Exchange forging evidence I mentioned a few days ago. I doubt that Youtube will be keeping it up for very long...

Policy Exchange hate tank busted?

Last night, BBC's Newsnight aired a jaw-dropping piece accusing the 'centre right' think tank/ Lobby group Policy Exchange of faking evidence used in the production of a widely quoted report it published a couple of months ago. A report which claimed that one in four British mosques are distributing material which says that it's OK to abuse women, crucify homosexuals, eat Christian babies and generally be a bit of c*nt to anyone who isn't a Muslim

Author of the tremendously well-written and informative 'Celsius 7/7', co-founder of the Policy Exchange think tank, Tory front-bench spokesman and all-round chopper Michael Gove - very similar in many ways to his neo-con contemporaries in the US but without their charm or personality

I say jaw-dropping because this is the only occasion I can think of when national broadcast media have suggested that someone might be deliberately faking material in support of the current domestic war on terror paradigm

Why Newsnight should break the habit of a lifetime and report something like this completely baffles me. Maybe they're doing a 'Gilligan' and the whole thing is going to blow up in the BBC's face. Maybe there's a war going on behind the scenes. Who knows

but, anyway, the show is currently up on the Newsnight website here and should stay there until tomorrow night's show is broadcast (the marvellous display of synchronised Lobby-trolling currently taking place on Newsnight's daily blog will presumably stay up for a little longer)
