Now this is what the people really want.

Forget the implosion of that plaything of the propertied and monied classes, otherwise known as the UK party political system, let's all bang on about teddy bears.

Absolutely brilliant! Editorial Intelligence and their ilk are certainly worth the swathes of cash they must be being paid now that nobody can see the fan for all the shit.

Northern Rock is now £29bn in the hole to the people of the UK

Or is it the other way around?

No teddies involved though...

Sign up for a Northern Rock account & get a teddy that espouses all the NR qualities.

Seeing as Hello Kitty didn't take the Job, perhaps teddy should? Or will no originatilty be shown and yet another brainless (but animated) puppet be appointed?

anyways...
The teddy story should be seen (albeit fleetingly) as part of the War OF Terror and the ongoing demonisation of Islam. That's the real issue - the peripheral one.

But from a MSM pov, some woman is involved, she's White, Shariah, Islam and Sudan have all combined.

Hannity must think he's been dealt a Royal Flush!

Here's some simple insight into the this monsotorous country known as Sudan...

Now if Sudan was part of the coalition of the Killing, then of course they'd be Knighted as "defenders of Democracy and Freedom."

Pass me a bucket...

P.S. A quick sleuthing showed neither Xinhua or The Hundu (representing > 1/3 of the worlds population) bothered to cover it. Quelle surprize.

If you take the trouble to visit the travel advice from the FCO on Sudan it might help you un derstand the nture of Sudanese society ... A wise precaution if you intend to travel / visit / live there.

"LOCAL LAWS AND CUSTOMS

Local laws reflect the fact that Northern Sudan and the capital Khartoum are predominantly Muslim. You should respect local customs and sensitivities at all times, especially during the holy month of Ramadan or if you intend to visit religious areas.

Northern Sudan operates Islamic Sharia Law. Alcohol is not permitted. Under the terms of the Sudanese constitution, until the referendum on secession of Southern Sudan takes place, Sharia law will apply in the states of Northern Sudan, but not Southern Sudan. Although the constitution specifies that in the national capital, Khartoum, non-Muslims shall not be subject to Sharia law, at present this has not resulted in any practical changes and you should expect Sharia law to apply.

Non-Muslim women are not expected to wear a veil or cover their heads, but you should dress modestly and respect local customs and sensitivities."

Thwe State spends larage sums of dosh, employs clever intelligent people , sends them to represent us and provide us with such advice.

When in Rome.

That FCO advice seems to be missing a line about keeping on the natives' good side by not destroying local pharmaceutical plants which are produce life-saving anti-malarial treatments...
