Welcome back to Grate Britain

"Welcome back though – you’ve just come back for next week’s violence haven’t you – you miss it really, don’t you. Last week I was thinking of taking a day off and attending the violence personally, but my foot has put paid to that. I also would not be able to run away from the violence properly. Will your Wednesday/Thursday be flavoured with violence, mano-mano, on the streets, with a camera?"

Well, *I* think it's a bit strange...

It's a central tenet of 9/11 Conspiranaut Mythology that all of the debris from the WTC site was whisked off with suspicious haste and scrapped in China before any independent investigators could subject it to forensic examination

Well, except the five tonnes of the stuff someone has dumped in a quiet part Christchurch...

next to the unfortunately named Kilmore Street Bridge of all places

The pile of sacred scrap is positioned in a shady corner which is a bugger to photograph in the contrasty Kiwi light but it looks something like this...

Erected barely a year after 9/11, in a location with biff all connection with New York and its firefighters as far as I can tell, there's very possibly an interesting back story to this sculpture but I haven't the faintest idea what it is...
