A mercifully pandimensional lizard-free extract from David Icke speaking at Haltemprice last Sunday, where he goes into the hobbies of some of the people supporting David Davis' noble and principled stand against Big Brother...
Icke includes a little chunk of material I pushed out onto to the Interweb which was subsequently ripped-off by The Independent
A few people asked me at time why I wasn't pissy about not receiving any acknowledgment
The answer is that I'm just satisfied that the connection I identified received some publicity. This is a personal blog and I have neither the time nor inclination to maintain a level, consistency or quality of output which would merit wide scale attention. I am happy with the way things are
What I am not happy with is that basic investigative research into a national event such as the Haltemprice By Election is left to a handful of people tapping on keyboards in their spare rooms and a bloke who, for reasons I can only guess at, blends that basic research with talk of alien overlords in human bodysuits

More (More) The The - aka If only Matt Johnson did weather forecasts...
Thanks to The Antagonist for reminding me of this other little number from The The's prophetic Matt Johnson...
They're 5 miles high as the crow flies
leavin' vapour trails against a blood red sky
Movin' in from the East toward the West
with Balaclava helmets over their heads, yes!
But if you think that Jesus Christ is coming
Honey you've got another thing coming
If he ever finds out who's hi-jacked his name
He'll cut out his heart and turn in his grave
Islam is rising
The Christians mobilising
The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds
It's war, she cried, It's war, she cried, this is war
Drop your possessions, all you simple folk
You will fight them on the beaches in your underclothes
You will thank the good lord for raising the union jack
You'll watch the ships sail out of harbour
and the bodies come floating back
If the real Jesus Christ were to stand up today
He'd be gunned down cold by the C.I.A.
Oh, the lights that now burn brightest behind stained glass
Will cast the darkest shadows upon the human heart
But God didn't build himself that throne
God doesn't live in Israel or Rome
God doesn’t belong to the yankee dollar
God doesn't plant the bombs for Hezbollah
God doesn't even go to church
And God won't send us down to Allah to burn
No, God will remind us what we already know
That the human race is about to reap what it's sown
The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds
Armageddon days are here again

The more things change the more they stay the same
Heartland from The The's Infected, because it came up in conversation with some fellow Loons yesterday...
Beneath the old iron bridges, across the Victorian parks
And all the frightened people running home before dark
Past the Saturday morning cinema
That lies crumbling to the ground
And the piss stinking shopping centre in the new side of town
I've come to smell the seasons change and watch the city
As the sun goes down again
Here comes another winter
Of long shadows and high hopes
Here comes another winter
Waitin' for utopia
Waitin' for hell to freeze over
This is the land where nothing changes
The land of red buses and blue blooded babies
This is the place where pensioners are raped
And the hearts are being cut from the welfare state
Let the poor drink the milk while the rich eat the honey
Let the bums count their blessings while they count the money
So many people can't express what's on their minds
Nobody knows them, nobody ever will
Until their backs are broken, their dreams are stolen
And they can't get what they want, then they're gonna get angry!
Well it ain't written in the papers but its written on the walls
The way this country is divided to fall
So the cranes are moving on the skyline
Trying to knock down this town
But the stains on the heartland can never be removed
from this country that's sick, sad and confused
Here comes another winter
Of long shadows and high hopes
Here comes another winter
Waitin' for utopia
Waitin' for hell to freeze over
The ammunition's being passed and the Lord's been praised
But the wars on the televisions will never be explained
All the bankers gettin' sweaty beneath their white collars
As the pound in our pocket turns into a dollar

Another triumph for the Ministry of Chocolate Teapots
It's round about that time of year when, after ten days or so of struggling around town like a drowned rat, I traditionally turn to the Met Office Long Range Weather Forecast to marvel, yet again, at its uncanny, almost psychic, predictive power...
"UK forecast for Summer 2008 (issued 3 April 2008)
Temperature
Mean temperatures are more likely to be above the 1971-2000 average. However, there is a slightly enhanced chance of cloudier and cooler spells.
Rainfall
Rainfall is more likely to be either near average or above average. The risk of exceptional rainfall, as seen last summer, is assessed as very low at this stage. "
...about as vague as a newspaper astrology column and still fucking wrong

One of these days it's going to dawn on someone that employing a bloke in Ireland to phone us up and tell us what's coming would probably be more accurate and definitely be more cost-effective

That's another fine mess you've gotten us into Bingley

A few weeks ago I was browsing the amusingly bitter and twisted threads over at Schadenfreude Centrale aka The House Price Crash Forum, when I came across this post...
"Who here is not...
short on Persimmons?
short on A&L?
short on B&B?
Come June 23rd when Soc Gen offer their next generation of warrants...
Who here is not going to short the british high st?
short on M&S anyone?
It's really not that difficult is it."
and it struck me at the time that the answer was 'no, no it's not'
The only surprising thing is how long it is taking for the likes of B&B (Bradford and Bingley) and A&L (Alliance and Leicester) to die once and for all

though it looks like B&B is finally slipping under

and don't expect the crack financial analysts over at Channel 4 News to provide any insight into what's going on. They're labouring under the impression that Bradford and Bingley is still a building society (with a stock market listing?!)...

...ah well, only 8 years out of date
I was working for a building society at the time of great carpetbagging demutualisation frenzy and it struck me at the time that a very deliberate crime was being commited, though I still don't think, more than ten years later, that the penny has dropped with most people.
That's partly because most of the ex-building societies continued to give off the airs and graces of mutual organisations, when they had in fact been transformed into something quite different. Some ceased to exist in all but name. Some were turned into vehicles which exceeded even pre-existing banks in their toxicity; Bradford and Bingley, Alliance and Leicester and, of course, Northern Rock are the first which come to mind
All entirely accidental of course
and whilst on the subject of amusing price charts, here are a couple of risque little numbers...
the pound/euro exchange rate -

$ gold -

if you hold your breath and listen very carefully you might just be able to hear the creaking sound of some very edgy bankers struggling to keep the £ up and gold down
It must be proving to be quite a strain for the poor dears

They hate us for our puppies
First, in spite of the fact that They are taught to respect Jesus and his teachings, They tried to take away Christmas
Then, in spite of the fact that They have no significant presence in our government, judiciary or security forces, They tried to impose FundaMENTAList Sharia Law on the entire country
Now They have started on our puppies, our cute adorable puppies...

The police/ media clearly think they've stumbled onto a winner with this puppy thing and this new angle looks like it's going to run and run...

For the correct treatment of cute adorable puppies and their relative importance compared to the lives and deaths of a few hundred thousand brown people please refer to this instructional video...

Mainstream Conspiraloons #148 - Peter Oborne
Peter Oborne on form here...
Personally selected highlights include...
"...Last week, Martyn Gilleard, a Nazi sympathiser in East Yorkshire, was jailed for 16 years. Police found four nail bombs, bullets, swords, axes and knives in his flat. Gilleard had been preparing for a war against Muslims. In a note at his flat he had written, "I am sick and tired of hearing nationalists talking of killing Muslims, blowing up mosques and fighting back only to see these acts of resistance fail. The time has come to stop the talking and start to act."
The Gilleard case went all but unreported. Had a Muslim been found with an arsenal of weapons and planning violent assaults, it would have been a far bigger story.
There is a reason for this blindness in the media.
; it is so entrenched, so much part of normal discussion, that almost nobody notices. Protests go unheard and unnoticed.
Why? Britain's Muslim immigrants are mainly poor, isolated and alienated from mainstream society. Many are a different colour. As a community, British Muslims are relatively powerless. There are few Muslim MPs, there has never been a Muslim cabinet minister, no mainstream newspaper is owned by a Muslim..."
and
"...Islamophobia – defined in 1997 by the landmark report from the Runnymede Trust as "an outlook or world-view involving an unfounded dread and dislike of Muslims, which results in practices of exclusion and discrimination" – can be encountered in the best circles: among our most famous novelists, among newspaper columnists, and in the Church of England. Its appeal is wide-ranging.
"I am an Islamophobe," the Guardian columnist Polly Toynbee wrote in The Independent nearly 10 years ago. "Islamophobia?" the Sunday Times columnist Rod Liddle asks rhetorically in the title of a recent speech, "Count me in". Imagine Liddle declaring: "Anti-Semitism? Count me in", or Toynbee claiming she was "an anti-Semite and proud of it".
Anti-Semitism is recognised as an evil, noxious creed, and its adherents are barred from mainstream society and respectable organs of opinion.
Not so Islamophobia. Its practitioners say Islamophobia cannot be regarded as the same as anti-Semitism because the former is hatred of an ideology or a religion, not Muslims themselves. This means there is no social, political or cultural protection for Muslims: as far as the British political, media and literary establishment is concerned the normal rules of engagement are suspended.
"There is a definite urge; don't you have it?", the author Martin Amis told Ginny Dougary of The Times: "The Muslim community will have to suffer until it gets its house in order. Not letting them travel. Deportation; further down the road. Curtailing of freedoms. Strip-searching people who look like they're from the Middle East or Pakistan. Discriminatory stuff, until it hurts the whole community and they start getting tough with their children." Here, Amis is doing much more than insulting Muslims. He is using the foul and barbarous language of fascism. Yet his books continue to sell, and his work continues to be celebrated.... "
Peter Oborne's Dispatches film, "It Shouldn't Happen to a Muslim", will be screened on Channel 4 at 8pm on Monday. The pamphlet Muslims Under Siege, by Peter Oborne and James Jones, is published next week by Democratic Audit.
An honorary Conspiraloon Alliance membership is winging Peter's way

And whilst picking TV highlights for the coming week it would be criminal not to mention the eagerly awaited BBC Conspiracy Files documentary which is going to finally settle all that insane speculation about WTC7's sudden, but not entirely unexpected, demise...
"9/11: The Conspiracy Files
Highlight
Sunday 06 July
9:00pm - 10:00pm
BBC2 London & South East
The Third Tower
There might come a point where you'll find yourself nodding sagely and murmuring, "Mmm, yes, that could have happened, because I must say it sounds very plausible." But you'll come to your senses. Conspiracy theories are nonsense and this particular supposed plot is dafter than most (spread, of course, by that conduit for poisonous nonsense, the internet). Apparently, the 11 September attacks were orchestrated by the Bush administration with the collusion of the secret service and the New York fire and police departments. The evidence? The fate of World Trade Center 7. The 47-storey building was home to various government agencies - it wasn't directly hit by a plane, but collapsed after being badly damaged by a subsequent fire on 11 September. Conspiracy theorists (or teenagers talking rubbish on message boards) claim it was blown up by a controlled explosion, though no-one can explain why or to what purpose. Watching this whole "conspiracy" edifice totter in the face of actual evidence is greatly satisfying.

I don't think we're in Lambeth anymore, Toto
It's been a quiet few days on this blog recently.
Largely down to the fact that I've been busy packing up and moving out of my home
And that's it for me and South London
I only mention this now as a courtesy to people who have been kind enough to stop by here and share their comments and links (thanks)
All being well, postings to this blog will be patchy and sporadic for a while now as I cast around looking for somewhere a little less oppressive and, um, stabby to relocate to
and here's a pic of my last(?) view of Lambeth as the doors closed on the tube taking me to the frozen wastelands north of the Thames...
