The evidence that last week's massacre in Norway involved something more than a lone nutcase is starting to stack up...

- The possible involvement of multiple gunmen
- Ridiculously slow police response time
- The police knowing the gunman's name when they arrived
- The 'media package which emerged immediately after the shootings - including a dubious 1,500 page manifesto, suitably incriminating Facebook account and high quality portraits and photos of the gunman dressed up in a variety of deranged costumes like some kind of White Nationalist Action Man

So, yes, there are plenty of reasons to suspect 'dark actors playing games' behind the scenes

And if the profile of the gunman, as being woven by the corporate media, were that of a Muslim fanatic or a lone Internet-obsessed conspiranoid I'd acknowledge that at least some of the analyses I'm seeing in the alternative media were internally consistent and credible

However, it's a little different this time

The ideology being implicated on this occasion is the kind of anti-Islamist, White Nationalist, pro-Zionist brew which up till now the 'dark actors playing games' have been working like bastards to cultivate around the world

When ghastly characters like 'Lionhart' and Melanie Phillips, people who've spent years bigging up the TERROR!! threat in support of their ideologies, feel obliged to distance themselves from an act of terrorism I personally conclude that something unusual is going on

You don't have to do much digging to establish that the EDL and other European White Nationalist groups are Zionist funded and often quite open about their solidarity with the state of Israel


My take is that if Melanie Phillips is wetting her knickers about something the chances are that it's not that good for Zionism

However, the fact that this mass murder places Zionist-associated ideologies firmly into the frame has done nothing to prevent many on-line conspiranauts posing the question 'Cui bono?' and responding 'The Zionists'

This is a belief system I've been criticising repeatedly in recent posts - the conviction that 'The Jews' are responsible for every event of malevolent significance in the world. A presumption nurtured by a willingness to cherry pick evidence and bend thought to gratify that belief system

It is on the increase in many of the sites that I visit, in readers' comments if not in the posts, and it's fucking up clear, critical thinking

It is no accident that the corporate media persistantly go out of their way to depict conspiracy theorists as people motivated by racial or religious agendas. Racial and religious based belief systems are easily ridiculed and, not to put too fine a point on it, they have a boundless capacity to piss people off. Well thought out, politically-based points of view are a much tougher proposition

As I haven't a lot of free time to put together much in the way of considered blog posts myself , I've been spending what free on-line time I have hanging around other people's blogs

Sad to say, and especially with the passing of Lord Patel, there continues to be not much in the way of UK blogging which suits my own personal tastes - sceptical of official narratives, but equally cautious about competing alternative narratives, and not inclined to run away with the fairies, or aliens

Craig Murray's blog is always worth popping by, though I suspect Craig has decided that he needs to retain at least some kind of connection with the mainstream in order to sustain a living. The swarm of trolls that descended on Craig's blog after he started commenting on the Israelis shooting nine peace activists in the back of the head indicates he must be doing something right

Aangirfan's prodigious blog is also worth visiting but, my, it does cross the line between anti-Zionism and something a tad more uncomfortable with reliable regularity

I've also spent a little time wading underneath the comments on Old Holborn's blog, though I always find myself wanting a shower afterwards

Old Holborn claims to be a Libertarian, though he and his entourage of commentators seem to spend the vast majority of their time venting race-hate about brown people and blaming them for all of the UK's ills, whilst devoting pretty much fuck all time to the Evils of the State. In fairness, Old Holborn also has the occasional wee pop at Zionists and has aroused the enmity of other members of the British Libertarian Party for doing so

That's the depressing state of Libertarianism in the UK - mostly pro-zionist wog-haters, plus the occasional anti-zionist wog-hater

In that respect, there are strands of American Libertarianism that are light years ahead of the essentially hate-fuelled discourse that's taking place in the UK

And what's the subject of Old Holborn's latest post? With the country, and the world, on the brink of an economic and social precipice, engineered by a governing, legal and financial elite that is to all intents and purposes entirely Muslim free. What's the Big Issue on the mind of the UK's leading Libertarian blogger?

The series of demented, racist comments underneath that post make truly depressing reading. There's no way of knowing just how representative this bile is of ordinary British people's views but there's no doubt that the media has been stoking it up for years and that must be having some effect

What I have seen, and am starting to see more frequently, is comments which cross the line between Anti-Zionism and Anti-Semitism

It also started to become clear, as I did some more grown-up study, that the Israelis weren't quite as outgunned as I was told they were, quite the opposite

And then I found out about stuff like the King David Hotel Bombing, the attack on the USS Liberty, the Lavon Affair, the Balfour Declaration and all the other staples of Anti-Zionist lore

Much of that anti-Zionist lore stands up to critical scrutiny a lot better than any of the Zionist bollocks I was fed as a kid

I still feel, years later, like a complete dick for believing so much propaganda

The news, after the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, that the executioners had been trained by Israelis was just the icing on the cake.

After all, the Israelis have had sixty years of solid experience of really getting to the heart of what it takes to prevent terrorism. Anyone who doesn't want London to have that carefree, at ease with itself, Tel Aviv vibe just has to be bonkers





Short of some kind of Apocalypse, the state of Israel is not going away (and yes there are some loonytunes Christian Zionist whackjobs who are banking on just that eventuality)

But, personally speaking, I don't want to see any Apocalypses or the annihilation of nations.

Voluntary Human Extinction - You Know It Makes Sense

A cheery little video I just stumbled across courtesy of The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement...



Human beings might not be the only species that kills for sport (an ignorant cliche from the same stable as 'religion is the cause of all wars') but it certainly is the only species that is self-aware enough and hates itself enough to contemplate its own eradication

A couple of days ago I linked to documentary about Jesus made by theologian Robert Beckwith. The central thrust of the film was that the teachings attributed to Jesus are universal and perfectly compatible with other belief systems across the globe.

I liked the film a lot because, for a welcome change, someone actually got to put up an intelligent show on mainstream TV which attempted to explore the similarities between people of different faiths, or absence of faiths. In the process the film also tried to demonstrate that being a Christian doesn’t necessarily mean being an intolerant nutcase and that, shock horror, Christianity really should be about being nice to people and doing the decent thing for its own sake

And whilst Beckwith didn’t explicitly state it, one of implied conclusions of the film was that the problem with many Christians is not that they’re Christians, it’s the fact that they’re shit Christians.

Gandhi probably put it better and without reverting to any swears…

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ"

Sure, belief in a Sky God is a bit silly but it’s no sillier than, say, believing that life spontaneously sprung up out of sludge after being struck by lightning a few times

And if secular polemicists such as Richard Dawkins serve no other useful purpose it is to prove that people with religious faith do not hold the monopoly on being intolerant, and plain fucking ignorant, dicks

The reason why I mention all this is because someone has just left me a link (thanks btw) to an internet movie called Zeigeist which attempts to make a connection between religious faith, especially Christianity, the 9/11 attacks, the War on Terror, the global banking system and elitist control of our world...





The film includes little original material and is basically a mash-up of information and clips that are freely available on the web and already well-known to people who are into that sort of thing. The most interesting part is the first third of the film which covers similar ground to Beckwith’s C4 documentary and makes a strong case that Christianity was itself a mash-up of pre-existing material and ideas.

FWIW my opinion of the film is that whilst it contains some very good and potentially startling factual content some of the conclusions woven around that content are totally misleading

My biggest issue is with the claim made by the film that monotheistic religion and the mindset it encourages has been the driving force for getting on for most of the Evil in the world over the last 2,000 years

Bollocks

Sure religion has often been subverted for Evil ends, but so has environmentalism, humanism, marxism, darwinism and lots of other initially well-intentioned isms I could name

If you could somehow abolish all organised religion tomorrow it wouldn't change a thing

Because people would still want to steal things off each other

And some people, the most wicked and most conniving of people, will continue to be very good at stealing - regardless of whether everyone else believes in a Sky God or not

The payload of Zeitgeist is the assertion that religion, not theft, is driving the bad things that are happening in the world. In that respect, whilst Zeitgeist purports to be a radical ‘Truth’ video, its message is absolutely no different to the Islamofascist bullshit that the Conservative Neocons and their puppet-masters are using as an excuse to rape the world


If I could be bothered I could sit down tomorrow and make my own competing film which highlights all the awful things that have been carried out in the name of atheistic secularism. The 19th and 20th centuries are littered bounteous quantities of source material. Sauce for the goose and all that...

But I won't because I think that would be a distraction.

The world’s problems don’t stem from religion, or lack of religion. They have come about because of greed and the inability of the majority of people to adequately comprehend and deal with the machinations of a ruthless, amoral minority.

When most people, Americans certainly, talk about Christianity they have one specific form of Christianity uppermost in mind - US style Christian Fundamentalism which is both intolerant and just about the least Christ-like belief system anyone could come up with.




I'd maintain that Christian Fundamentalism was created and is promoted, as with the Catholic Church, by very earthly interests. I can understand why people get wound up about religion but they are focusing on the weapon rather than the creature wielding it.

And if people keep swallowing the same old bait, crafted to divide and distract us, nothing will change

In short, whilst I think movies like Zeitgest contain a lot of interesting material and are worth watching with an open but sceptical mind, the film I’d really like to see made is the one that doesn’t fuel the eternally fruitless, divisive conflict between Christians and secular humanists but rather the film which shames the daft fucks who think they are Christians into behaving a bit more like the guy they claim to revere.

Policy Exchange hate tank busted?

Last night, BBC's Newsnight aired a jaw-dropping piece accusing the 'centre right' think tank/ Lobby group Policy Exchange of faking evidence used in the production of a widely quoted report it published a couple of months ago. A report which claimed that one in four British mosques are distributing material which says that it's OK to abuse women, crucify homosexuals, eat Christian babies and generally be a bit of c*nt to anyone who isn't a Muslim

Author of the tremendously well-written and informative 'Celsius 7/7', co-founder of the Policy Exchange think tank, Tory front-bench spokesman and all-round chopper Michael Gove - very similar in many ways to his neo-con contemporaries in the US but without their charm or personality

I say jaw-dropping because this is the only occasion I can think of when national broadcast media have suggested that someone might be deliberately faking material in support of the current domestic war on terror paradigm

Why Newsnight should break the habit of a lifetime and report something like this completely baffles me. Maybe they're doing a 'Gilligan' and the whole thing is going to blow up in the BBC's face. Maybe there's a war going on behind the scenes. Who knows

but, anyway, the show is currently up on the Newsnight website here and should stay there until tomorrow night's show is broadcast (the marvellous display of synchronised Lobby-trolling currently taking place on Newsnight's daily blog will presumably stay up for a little longer)

Unfortunately, it’s looking like I won’t be around on 26th October to witness the Islamo-Fascism Awareness march scheduled to take place in London

Rory over at the Chimes of Freedom blog makes an impassioned call for trying to ban the march. I understand the case he is making but I have to confess that I personally am really conflicted on this subject. Partly because my world view is more Gandhi than Trotsky but mostly because I think, given the media's track record when covering these kind of demos and the woeful state of the mainstream Left in the UK, those who are opposed to demos like this are on a hiding to nothing

If the march were to be banned this would be cited as evidence that free speech in the UK has been restricted due to fear of offending Muslims, or even more perniciously because of a fear of Muslim violence. If the march goes ahead and is faced with a Muslim counter demonstration this will be covered by the media as an expression of militant Islam – possibly aided by the now traditional sight of half a dozen guys turning up out of nowhere brandishing a few provocative placards. Potential opposition from much of the mainstream Left will be neutered, as with the invasion of Afghanistan*...

Particularly when the interests which pull the strings of so many of our politicians, newspapers and, sadly, our increasingly politicised senior policemen are clearly dead set on stoking this kind of shit up

One lesson I’ve learned as an adult is that if someone tries to provoke me just about the worst thing I can do is to rise to the bait in the way that person wants.

The absolutely No.1 best response to someone attempting to annoy or anger you is to…

Take the piss out of them!!

Taunt them rigid. Rib them senseless. Make it abundantly clear that you don’t give a toss and even, if you’re feeling cocky, ask them if that’s the best they’ve got




That’s not to say that there are not times when a good kicking is in order (if you are physically threatened) but even then if you’ve goaded your opponent into losing it there’s a pretty good chance that will give you an edge. They might even do something daft enough to get arrested, whether the police are happy about having to do that or not

After all, demonstrations are essentially a competitive, sometimes contact, sport and if psyching out an opponent was good enough for Muhammad Ali it has to be worth thinking about. Psyops for the masses...

Baer visits Israel, where the government built a $1.5 billion wall aimed at stopping Palestinian suicide bombers, and offers his own ideas about how self-radicalising young people can be turned away from this murderous path.

It's great to see the major television networks doing their warm up acts for Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week later on in the month

It's just as well everything is so quiet in the Middle East at the moment, otherwise paranoid cynics might start thinking people are being softened up for something

And, as I’ve said a few times before, I think it’s absolutely brilliant how these shows frequently turn to the Israelis for advice on how to deal with terrorism. They’ve only been at if for about 60 years and starting to show some real progress now that they’ve hit upon a winning formula of building enormous great fucking walls all over the place, blanketing the country with checkpoints, demolishing entire neighbourhoods and engaging in perpetual low level conflict with their neighbours




Yup, we’ve got a lot to learn from those guys and the sooner we start taking a leaf or two out of their book the better

though it is a bit of a shame how these TV shows don’t actually explain that suicide bombing started as a tactic to use against militarily superior foes, rather than as an ideology

And nor do these programs get round to explaining why it is that we’re supposed to think that suicide bombs are somehow scarier or more dangerous than other kinds of bombs...

• Do suicide bombs somehow hurt more than, say, IRA bombs (the threat of which we somehow managed to live with without being encouraged by our establishment to shit our pants on a daily basis) because the guys carrying them blow up with them?
  
  (I've actually heard a couple of senior Metropolitan Police officers explain that the difference between IRA and Islamic terror attacks is that the Islamic terror attacks are planned to cause maximum loss of life in a way that IRA bombs weren't. • Why do supposedly responsible and thoughtful television companies make documentaries that claim to explain suicide bombing but restrict themselves to spouting agenda-laden bollocks instead

I’ve never really understood what the expression Islamo-Fascism is supposed to mean. Maybe it’s the Italian, oops sorry, Danish ancestry but I’m a bit old school when it comes to defining Fascism and believe its core feature to be an unholy merger of state and corporate power

and Islam, however extreme, doesn’t qualify.

I believe the expression to be a deliberate exercise in sophistry, crafted to associate Muslims with Nazis and all the pre-packed baggage that goes with that. However, I can’t help thinking that if Islamic fundamentalists really are Fascists they have would probably have quite a lot in common with the people demonstrating against them

Fascists demonstrating against Fascists - what is the world coming to?

Maybe they should all sit down and have a nice cup of tea and a chat

And anyone thinking about joining in with this Islamo-Fascist awareness crap might want to think about who’s yanking their chain and for what reasons

... or are the objectives of a war mongering neo-con lobby and a ruling elite that demonises the lower classes as ‘chavs’, a ruling elite populated by people who view those lower classes as being only slightly less loathsome than shit on their shoe, really worth fighting for?
